YOUth ACT ART SHOW: UNTOLD STORIES
April 2024
Our annual art show celebrated stories that would otherwise remain tucked away somewhere, alien, in a sea of cookie-cutter and easy to digest stories that are fed to us by mainstream media.
Our aim was to create a space that is safe, warm and vibrant for artists to share real stories, untethered from societal expectations and judgements. Focusing on themes of class, gender, race and sexuality, we wish to amplify the voices of those who don’t often get the mic. YOUth ACT curated and hosted a diverse program of artists, crafts, live music and spoken word.
WE ARE NOT REALLY STRANGERS
December 2023
Based on the card game “We’re not really strangers,” we hosted a networking night to enable young people to have critical and reflective conversations 🌍
YOUth ACT hosted a social and educational event for young people to get to meet new people and play this amazingly curated card game by our community team 🙌🏽
Different cards, different topics, different tables, different conversations each 20 minutes, all in a safe space 💜
Check our our Instagram for more details on upcoming events!
Deadline: January 22, 2024
YOUthACT's aspirations
YOUth Act is a community-based hub for young people who work on social and environmental justice topics as activists, advocates and social entrepreneurs. We aspire to live in a world where young people (under 30) with diverse experiences and backgrounds are empowered to participate in political, social and economic decision-making. We contribute to this vision by offering young people access to practical skills, critical political and economic education, opportunities to expand their network and a place in YOUth Act’s local community.
What is the Starter Pack?
The driving force behind the Starterpack is our ambition to enable more young people to become agents of change, by democratizing the access to leadership, social entrepreneurship and advocacy skills. During this 4-week program we select a cohort of 10 passionate high potential individuals or groups (2-3 people) from diverse backgrounds. Through workshops hosted by experienced activists, advocates, and entrepreneurs in the field, we offer practical soft and hard skills. Skills we cover during the workshops range from defining one’s bias and assumptions to improving digital literacy. The Starterpack is completely free of charge(!) due to donations, subsidies and the continuous support from our workshop trainers and mentors.

Themes
The themes for the Starterpack 2024 will be:
Mentors
On top of the workshops, YouthAct’s Starterpack provides all participants with individualized coaching and mentorship. We have selected mentors who have experience in the field of social and environmental impact making. We believe receiving individual feedback and guidance is an essential part in the process of transforming an idea into an own standing organization. We are happy to present experienced mentors from different fields that decided to take part in our programme. We will share their personal stories and skills via our social media channels!
YOUthACT’s alumni community
On completion of the Starterpack, the participants, speakers and mentors will become part of our community, where they can enjoy YouthAct’s events, internship/job-opportunities and network.
Starter Pack workshops will be hosted in Amsterdam or in a hybrid form depending on the current COVID-19 regulations.
